About the Author

One name. A wide fictional universe.

NL Bright writes across an unusually broad range of fiction, moving from intimate personal stories to political satire, technological speculation, alternate histories, sprawling science-fiction sagas, institutional mysteries, and genre-defying works that combine several traditions at once.

Across those differences, the books repeatedly return to questions of power, identity, institutions, memory, history, technology, responsibility, and the stories people tell themselves in order to understand the worlds they have created.

The genre may change. The question underneath the story usually does not: what happens when people finally have to confront the systems, histories, beliefs, or identities they helped create?

The Knappy Apps Publishing catalog includes standalones as well as multi-book projects such as TradeSecrets, Imperium Galacticum, TODD, Afrodesium, Sins of Gods, Cornball Brotha, and The Misadventures of Jambalaya Jones.
