Cornball Brotha:
Funk Against the Machine
The city is humming. The Curve is pushing back.
Mookie Tyles never asked to be a hero. He wanted to keep the Funplex running, keep The Curve from falling apart, and maybe make it through a day without his experimental golf ball, Birdie, going cosmic on him.
Then NeuBoCo activates its sinister Back Nine Protocol.
The Harmony Towers begin rewriting civic life, bending emotions, memories, behavior, and the rhythms of the city toward something colder, quieter, and easier to control.
The Curve refuses to cooperate.
Mookie's reluctant alter ego, Cornball Brotha, becomes the spark of a neighborhood uprising. Councilwoman Shavonne Parker brings political nerve and vision. Funk-griot Z-Beezy hears frequencies other people have forgotten how to hear. The mysterious janitor-oracle M sees patterns beneath the surface.
And then Jambalaya Jones arrives.
A prodigy hacker-engineer armed with rhythm-coded technology, Jambalaya may be able to scramble the Towers themselves. But as psychic funkquakes roll through the streets and forgotten Architect spirits stir beneath the asphalt, the community realizes the fight is larger than a piece of technology.
NeuBoCo has its own champion. Razor Gill grows increasingly unstable as the Towers hum louder, while Doctor Johnson Wells prepares to “correct” The Curve permanently.
To stop them, Mookie must confront the past NeuBoCo stole from him, understand Birdie's intention-driven power, and become something he never planned to be: the center of a movement built from ancestral rhythm, neighborhood solidarity, technology, memory, and transcendental funk.
In a city filled with ghosts, frequencies, corporate control, old wounds, street-level resistance, and cosmic groove, one truth becomes impossible to ignore: a groove can crumble an empire—if played true enough.
Start at the Beginning
Before the Harmony Towers, before the neighborhood uprising, and before Cornball Brotha became a symbol, Mookie Tyles was a forgotten prodigy whose stolen invention suddenly came back to life.
