TradeSecrets:
CULTURE
Every specimen has a provenance.
Maya James has become a more established investigator at Axiom Strategic Group. She understands the rhythms of the company better now, has earned greater latitude inside it, and has begun to believe she can tell the difference between an ordinary assignment and something more consequential.
Then a case takes her to Singapore and Thailand, where a biological culture identified as K-17 carries a history that should be straightforward. The records trace its development through earlier samples, laboratories, transfers, engineering work, acquisitions, and a previous safety event.
But the organism's genome does not agree with the history attached to it.
Maya's investigation leads through researchers, corporate acquisitions, scientific repositories, regulatory records, and years of institutional custody. What first appears to be a technical discrepancy gradually becomes a larger question: who changed the story of the culture—and why did so many legitimate systems preserve the changed version?
TradeSecrets: CULTURE follows Maya across borders and institutions as scientific truth, corporate history, and authorized records begin to diverge—and as another fragment of Axiom's larger architecture comes into view.
The TradeSecrets Series
Maya James follows cases in which evidence, institutions, technology, authority, and hidden histories become part of the mystery itself.
