A Beautiful Abyss
Beauty and danger have always been closer than people like to admit.
A Beautiful Abyss explores the spaces people enter willingly even when some part of them understands that what waits below may change everything.
Desire can feel like certainty. Ambition can feel like purpose. Love can feel like rescue. Obsession can disguise itself as devotion. The most consequential choices are often the ones that seem beautiful while they are being made.
People rarely walk toward destruction believing that destruction is what they have chosen. They move toward possibility, intimacy, fulfillment, escape, recognition, or some version of themselves they desperately want to become.
Only later does the distance between attraction and consequence become visible.
The novel examines the complicated human tendency to pursue the things that attract us even when instinct, experience, or reason suggests caution.
A Beautiful Abyss is literary fiction about desire, vulnerability, consequence, self-deception, beauty, emotional risk, and the choices people make while standing close enough to an edge to mistake falling for freedom.
